Module Details
Module Indicative Content
This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the production process involved in film/programme making. You will be given an overview of the pre-production, production and post-production elements, with particular reference to the importance of research, visual composition and audio production. You will be involved in a number of exercises and work in groups to produce short film/s/programme/s.

There will be a significant number of technical demonstrations, exercises and workshop instruction. The learning experience will involve you extensively in researching and practicing film/programme production. Technical skills include the production of sound and vision sequences. These sequences will involve recording, editing and mixing. Research skills include using the library and the internet. Visual and verbal skills will be developed through practice in small group seminars and the beginning of an ideas/concept book. An emphasis will be placed on group communication and a range of team building exercises will be implemented

This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the full production process from concept to post production and the importance of collaboration and teamwork. You will develop the basic production skills required in camera, sound and editing and the interdisciplinary skills of communication, organisation and planning, which are vital to a successful film/programme.
