The role and responsibilities of the midwife during the prenatal period including the ethical and legal framework of professional care.
Anatomy and physiology related to conception and pregnancy including physiological changes occurring in pregnancy.
Antenatal screening, genetic inheritance.
The development and growth of embryo and fetus.
Interpersonal and communication skills, parenthood education.
Clinical midwifery skills.
Midwifery services, patterns of prenatal care.
Multidisciplinary and multi agency working.
Key Skills: Communication, IT, working with others, learning, problem solving, employability.
