Module Indicative Content
This module will focus on the application of theory to clinical practice by a combination of classroom based theory and supervised, assessed clinical practice. Throughout the module discussion will include meeting individual needs, regardless of age, race, culture and sexuality. Professional, legal and ethical perspectives will be explored. Sessions will include the following areas of clinical practice:

Sexual history taking
Diversity and sexual health
Legal and ethical issues of sexual health
Medicines Management
Reflection
Fertility Issues
Sexual Assault
Diagnosis, screening and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections
Partner Notification
Blood Bourne virus testing
Introduction to Psychosexual problems
Module Additional Assessment Details
Assessment in two parts;

A 3500 word critical reflection (written assignment) on an aspect of Contraception clinical practice (contributes to meeting LO's 1, 2, and 3) Weighting 100%
Achievement of the clinical learning outcomes (see clinical assessment documents), (contributes to meeting LO's 1and 2) Pass/Fail

both elements need to be awarded a pass for successful completion of the module.
