Indicative Content
Effective midwifery practice: art and science of midwifery; revision of human anatomy and physiology; knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology related to childbirth; genetics and screening: public health and women in contemporary society; psychological health - maternal mental health; strategic policy

Professional, legal and ethical practice: NMC standards, ethical and legal frameworks and their impact on evidence based midwifery care; collaborative working in the wider healthcare team and agencies; appropriate referral

Developing the individual midwife and others: effective communicating and sharing information with others (women and their families, health professionals); effective use of the framework for the statutory supervision of midwives

Achieving care through evaluation and research: evidence based practice in delivering care to meet the needs and choices of women; developing knowledge of research methodology
