Details :-An individual case study that includes:
An Oral presentation with role playing, weighted at 50%, which assesses Learning Outcomes 3, 4 and 5.
A Written report of not more than 2500 words, weighted at 50%. This assesses Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Module Indicative Content
In this module, the students will be guided into understanding the totality of the hospitality industry. They will be exposed to the principles and practices, operational situations and management cases within the industry. The classic management theories and responsibilities will also be introduced with emphasis on the hospitality industry applications. The topics covered in this module will be:
- Introduction to the principles and practices of the hospitality industry
- The customers and customer expectations
- Lodging component
- Restaurants and managed services
- Recreation, gaming and entertainment component
- Leadership and management functions in hospitality organizations
- The people and the system (workplace teams/ working with customers/ safety and security issues.
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module requires students to commit 150 learning hours composing 45 contact hours and 105 independent study hours.
Lecturers will provide students with the broad overview of the indicative content of the module. Support activities will include any combination of the following: individual and group activities, discussions, case study analysis site visits, videos and guest speakers.
