Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Key Digital Audio Workstation principles and techniques implemented across a range of different examples.
Strategies for working in professional Audio Workstation environment
Processing audio with software, including the underlying theory of dynamics, and equalisation processes.
Editing and arranging digital audio and MIDI
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
1. DAW Project. This will be undertaken in an industry leading DAW as specified in the final assessment documentation and should be at least 4 minutes long for a music focussed piece of work, and 2 minutes long for a film or radio focussed piece of work. It should include at least 4 audio tracks and 4 midi tracks and all audio content should be original, the composition itself does not need to be. (LO1&2)

2. Written reflection of different DAWs. Students will compare the DAW they have used to one or more industry leading DAWs as specified in the assessment documentation. Students will outline specific areas of difference, how they provide and advantage or disadvantage and the contexts in which that becomes most important. 1000 words. (LO1 & 3)
