Module Additional Assessment Details
100% in-course assessment comprising two equally weighted assessments
Portfolio (50%) comprising Project Plan, planning & hosting of Event, financial analysis, Risk Assessment, post-event analysis and logbook; assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
PRACTICAL (50%) incorporating practical and written work (50%) assessing Learning Outcomes 4, 5 ,6 and 7.
Module Indicative Content
In this module the students will plan and organise an event in the Entertainment area and then create professional promotional material of one of the artists performing at the event. This will include planning & scheduling, budgeting and cashflow, risk and impact assessment, data capture, synchronisation of sound and video to create a promotional DVD, designing and developing a suitable web based environment to market the artist.
Aspects of legislation covering events will be examined and marketing techniques employed in the Music Industry investigated.
Practical experience will be provided in applying these tools to a small scale prescribed event. Communication and team working will be essential.

Prior study of CE70048-4 Music, Media and the Web or equivalent.
