Module Learning Strategies
3 hour laboratories incorporating lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.
Technical instruction on techniques for film sound recording equipment (1x 2 hours), studio preparation for ADR sessions (1x 2 hours) and DAW techniques for film sound editing (1x 2 hours).
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% In course assessment comprising:-

50% Individual stereo and surround soundtracks with accompanying report 1800 words (Sem 1)
assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3
50% Original sound design creation, interview and presentation. (Sem 2) assessing Learning Outcomes 2, 3 and 4

All aspects of film sound & synchronisation
Exploration of the different elements of film soundtracks
Project management utilising industry standard DAWs
Mixing & mastering in stereo and 5.1 surround.
Effective use of film sound hardware.
