Students who study this module at the University of Hartford are not allowed to study CE00144-5 Studio Techniques at Stafford during level 6.

- CD-R(W); DVD-R(W) are good for permanent storage
- Firewire hard drive is best for day-to-day backup.
- PowerBook/MacBook can be used as a backup drive in target mode if you have the drive space.
- Your files must always reside in at least two places!

Module Learning Strategies
This module will be taught by a combination of lectures and practical demonstrations. One lecture plus one practical per week. Much of the module will be of a practical nature, where you will be setting up and using the relevant studio hardware to gain an understanding of its function.

- Radio Commercial Production

Planned Projects:
1. Voice-over demo recordings with acting students (pairs)
2. Two-track Classical Music editing in Pro Tools (individual)
3. Multitrack mixdown: Pro Tools automation (Studio B) and console automation (Studio A)
4. Subtractive Synthesis: Create your own synthesizer instruments and patches using Tassman (individual)
5. Gather sounds for custom instrument; build sample instrument (pairs)
6. Compose (and/or sound design) a piece using the instrument (pairs)
7. Radio Commercial Production (teams)
8. Produce an arrangement for a song from raw tracks (pairs)
