Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
You will achieve a high level of competence in a modern recording studio environment. You will be able to choose appropriate tools and techniques for complex multi-track recording including the use of DAW recording software, appropriate microphones and techniques, the use of analogue mixing desks and outboard equipment to prepare you to work independently in any recording environment.
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
The Studio recording project will be at least 4 minutes of audio if it is a music-based project, if it is a sound for film or radio focussed project then audio should be counted on ratio of 1 minute of audio for every 2 minutes of music. The recordings must include at least one instance of multi-microphone set ups and should be made exclusively of original recordings. (LO2, LO4)

The practical test under exam conditions will test student’s knowledge and understanding of the studio recording process (LO1) through directed questions and specific tasks. They will be given scenarios and situations to which they have to respond appropriately. (LO3)
