Module Additional Assessment Details
100% in course assessment comprising of a written assignment weighted at 50%. A Practical assignment weighted at 50%.
1. Practical Assignment/ laboratory exercise weighting 50%, assessing Learning Outcomes, 1 & 3.
2. Written Assignment 2000 words maximum weighting 50%, assessing Learning Outcomes, 2 & 4.
Module Indicative Content
The module will cover,
1. The types of production and mixing techniques usually associated with commercial recordings produced with the music industry
2. Exploration of how production techniques have developed and how computer based recording packages can be used to change musical content
3. Exploration of how computer based recording packages can be used to alter musical performance and improve the sonic potential of a mix
4. Develop the knowledge of production skills and their possible application to a pre-recorded multitrack recording
5. Use technology to apply production skills to amend and improve the quality of production and mix to a multitrack recording
