4 x 1 Hour Introduction to project planning and management followed by regular small or individual group tutorials with supervisor

Student centred learning to include production of practical work demonstrating specialist subject knowledge and skills.

1. Practical 'product' containing several existing, but at least one new, piece of work (Learning Outcome 1).
2. Oral Presentation (Learning Outcomes 2 and 3).

Module Indicative Content
The portfolio requires the student to demonstrate practical ability in their chosen subject area. They pursue a practical piece of work agreed with their supervisor and proceed to design, create and test the outcome.

The product will be grounded in Music Technology and will allow the student to focus on extending their skills in the specific aspect they wish to pursue in industry. The portfolio may contain pieces of work you have produced for assessments or work you have done outside of university or for a university organised event. It must also include one new piece of definitive work to illuminate your portfolio.
Web Descriptor
This module prepares you for undertaking a sustained research based project such as the dissertation. It exposes you to a wide range of different research approaches while allowing you to focus on those areas which interest you the most. In the course of this module you will produce a detailed proposal which may be used for the dissertation, while also learning techniques for writing literature reviews.
