Contact hours:
4 x 1 hour sessions introducing project planning and management followed by regular small group or individual tutorials with supervisor.

Student centred learning to include research and report writing. The ability of the student to organise and manage their own learning is one of the key factors in the creation of a good project.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A COURSEWORK weighted at 100% comprising:
1. Written proposal including Gantt chart (Learning outcome 1)
2. Progress report and Interview (Learning outcomes 2 and 3)
3. Final report (Learning outcomes 3 and 4)
Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide you with the opportunity to build on skills and areas of interest developed during previous years of study in Music Technology.

You will author a dissertation that shows the development of strong research, a Project Plan & literature review, in depth study of your chosen area and creative solutions to your own brief.

The dissertation should demonstrate an extension of the range of skills developed on your award, the gathering and analysis of data, testing, evaluation and conclusions.

This module offers the opportunity to develop advanced, specialist knowledge in the your chosen subject area by undertaking a significant body of work on a self-managed basis. The Final Year Project is the opportunity for you to demonstrate both academic knowledge and practical abilities in a specialist area of your choice. You will create an online portfolio of work and an accompanying dissertation that details the research and critical analysis that informs the project. It is considered the pinnacle of your academic career and should be both challenging and rewarding. It provides the opportunity to showcase the knowledge and skills that you have built up over your university career by drawing them together in the creation of an independent, self-managed piece of work.
