Original sound design for an interdisciplinary, collaborative project and written documentation of its development assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Following lectures to introduce to the use of sound in fields such as experimental film, theatre, radio and animation, students will choose a collaborative area to study further. They will bring their research to discuss in small group seminars. They will find individuals working in those disciplines to collaborate with in order to develop a portfolio of specialised sound design work.
Staff will support students in their independent work through regular tutorials. Students will also receive guidance on effective documentation of their project work.

Sound is an essential part of the experience in some many different creative contexts. On this module you will explore the use of sound in such fields as experimental film, theatre, radio and animation. You will choose one of these areas to focus on in more detail and then create a portfolio of sounds which you can applying in a realistic context. You will develop essential skills for working with sound in visual media.
