INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module is a formal assessment to gain credit for the placement part of your degree. The work can be varied but will be tailored to the student’s needs whilst satisfying the company requirements.
To provide practical experience of working in a professional environment and provide an opportunity to use this to reflect on personal development and career goals.
To apply knowledge and skills developed during levels 4 & 5 of an award.
To develop appropriate professional and personal behavioural attitudes within a professional environment. To apply and further develop communication, team working and decision-making skills.
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
1. Reflective technical report examining the application and development of technical skills relating to the course which have been utilised as part of your placement. (LO3)
2. Presentation/Interview which outlines your development of professional and personal skills relating to your future career development. (LO1 & 2)
3. Assessment of your performance from your visiting tutor in conversation with the company with which you are doing a placement with. (LO2 &3).
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Student led, to pass the pre-requisite PLAC00001 the student has already written a reflective report under the guidance of the placement supervisor.

Must have completed a placement year in the previous academic year.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
An optional final year module providing formal credit for a work placement which the students may undertake for their sandwich degree. The placement is taken as a year out between level 5 and level 6 and may be in any relevant industry or organisation. This provides practical experience of working in a professional environment and provides an opportunity to use this to reflect on personal development and career goals.
