- Identify and agree the study topic to the satisfaction of the module leader
- Develop a study plan including project milestones and deliverables

- Produce a report, which may include a portfolio, describing the achievements, techniques and analytical elements of the project.

Coursework (100%) assessing learning outcomes 1 to 3.
A report (3000 words), including a log book, possibly including a practical element or portfolio as appropriate which will be weighted accordingly.

Students will negotiate with the module leader in order to identify an individual programme of study related to an area of interest to themselves in the field of music technology. Identification of the topic must be considered carefully in order to assure its relevance and appropriateness. The final report must be academically rigorous and must include comprehensive referencing as well as evidence of research and originality. The final work may also include a practical element or a portfolio if that is appropriate to the topic. The student should meet with the module leader during the course of the semester in order to report on progress and receive feedback. An appropriate work placement may be included towards all or part of the content of this module, as agreed with the module tutor.

On this module you will negotiate with your tutor in order to identify an individual programme of study related to a specific area of interest in a field related to music. You will produce an academically rigorous final work which may also include a practical element or a portfolio if appropriate. You will meet regularly with the module leader and other students in order to report on progress, exchange ideas and receive feedback. You will develop invaluable research skills which will help you in your career or further postgraduate study.
