100% coursework consisting of:
A Project report length 12,000 WORDS weighted at 60%.
An individual portfolio or artefact weighted at 30%.
An oral presentation and oral defence of project report content and portfolio weighted at 10%

INDICATIVE CONTENT
In consultation with a designated supervisor, formulate the content and the time schedule for an advanced level research project in an appropriate field of Music. The research will be formulated to be at a level appropriate to the award of MA
Using established research techniques, carry out the chosen research project autonomously with minimal supervision.
Write a comprehensive report and produce an appropriate portfolio of work or artefact covering the research programme.
Present the completed work in a final interview.

This is your opportunity to carry out a large-scale research project in an area of your choosing with the support of the University’s extensive facilities and expertise. You will consult with your designated supervisor in order to formulate the content of your advanced level project in an appropriate field. You will apply the research techniques established earlier on your course in order to carry out your chosen research autonomously and confidently. Finally, you will produce a comprehensive report and an appropriate portfolio of work covering the research programme. The skills you develop on this module will be invaluable for your future career or further postgraduate study.
