Module Additional Assessment Details
All elements of assessment must be passed.
1. Identifying information types in written reports (30%) [Learning Outcome 1]
2. Research techniques as design journal reports (40%) [Learning Outcome 2]
3. Presentation techniques with mood and sample boards (30%) [Learning Outcome 3]

The assessments for Project Research and Visualisation 1 and 2 will be submitted together.
Module Indicative Content
An introduction to interior design and the design process illustrating different forms of interior design and the broad variety of potential project locations. The work of residential and commercial interior design practitioners will be explored and contextual grounding will be provided as well as an overview of the history of interiors, a brief look at current styles and possible future trends.
Module Learning Strategies
Delivery is by distance learning with a comprehensive course handbook, examples of best practice, project templates and telephone and email support being available as necessary through our online VLE, individual and group tutorials, online forums and bulletin boards. Specialist knowledge will be delivered by a diverse team of staff and visiting guest lecturers with a variety of relevant backgrounds and experience. Relevant site visits may be employed at appropriate stages.
