Learning Outcomes 1-3
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will explore different presentation environments and enable you to evaluate the requirements of the designer to communicate within these varied environments. It will consider the global movement of presentation material and how to promote full understanding of these materials. The module will also consider how to work with outsourced designers, who may operate in a different country. It will focus on the understanding of the audience and ensure that you are conversant with what to say or perhaps more importantly what not to say. It will cover all levels of communication including clients, suppliers, contractors and team members and how to ensure clarity and avoid litigation. You will have an opportunity to develop your presentation skills and will experience the importance of communication within a range of situations including scheduling, delivering a scheme and the consequences of poor communication. The module will provide examples of how presentation can make or mar a project, irrespective of the quality of design proposals.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Delivery is in studio through a range of live projects delivered by NDA tutors and supported by qualified designers. Information will be delivered through short input sessions individually, in small groups or to the whole cohort, followed immediately by further study and followed up with learning checks to determine understanding. You will practice a range of presentation techniques and analyse performance supported by peers, tutors and mentors.
