Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
Delivery is by distance learning with a comprehensive course handbook, examples of best practice, project templates and telephone and email support being available as necessary through our online VLE, individual and group tutorials, online forums and bulletin boards. Specialist knowledge will be delivered by a diverse team of staff and visiting guest lecturers with a variety of relevant backgrounds and experience. Relevant site visits may be employed at appropriate stages.

Module Indicative Content
The Module will provide an overview of why and how interiors have evolved in response to changing social and cultural demands. Beginning with the Classical world of Greece and Rome and continuing up until the present day; the Module will introduce students to the interrelationship between patron and architect, taste and status, decoration and the arts.
Module Additional Assessment Details
All elements of assessment must be passed.
1. Contextual awareness as mood and sample boards and plans and drawings (40%) [Learning Outcome 1]
2. Chronology of styles in written reports and mood and sample boards (30%) [Learning Outcome 2]

The assessments of Space in Historical Context 1 and 2 will be submitted together.
