Module Indicative Content
The knowledge and skills contained within this Module will enable students to remove unintended consequences of any design impact upon the final appearance of the lighting design. This is achieved through developing an understanding of the creative potential of lighting design underpinned by sufficient science to quantify the metrics required to fulfil a broad variety of design criteria.

Students will learn to apply the basic principles of light to a lighting design suitable for residential architecture in all areas of internal living; this will lead to a core competence in lighting design for residential interior design. Also an appreciation of commercial lighting design techniques required to satisfy some retail environments, small office, reception areas, board rooms and transitional spaces (such as corridors). An appreciation of designing for commercial spaces such as bars and restaurants will further broaden the scope of work for the future interior design practitioner.
