INDICATIVE CONTENT
This Module brings together a variety of skills developed during your study at levels 4 & 5 and allows you to apply these skills towards a specific major project. The project addresses commercial venue design considerations for a specific brief located within a designated context. Plans and other visual information will be supplied and you will be encouraged to address the following factors:

Scale and proportion
Space planning
DDA and other regulations
Lighting and technology
Surfaces and materials
Furniture and furnishings

This assignment provides you with the basis for a portfolio of evidence that you can show to clients as an indication of the quality of your work and will be developed further in the next module. You will be asked to respond to a client brief to produce a full design scheme including costings, plans, visuals, rationale, product specifications etc. Presentation is of major importance and should include developmental sketches and a reflective design journal in order to evidence how the ideas and scheme has evolved. You have to make the decision how to present your work for maximum effect. The focus is on showing a clear analysis of the client brief, research into potential schemes and the design and selection of a final scheme with justification. This major project should draw on all the knowledge and skills previously gained.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Delivery is in studio through a range of live projects delivered by NDA tutors and supported by qualified designers. Information will be delivered through short input sessions individually, in small groups or to the whole cohort, followed immediately by further study and followed up with learning checks to determine understanding. You will work on projects to develop the requisite skills both individually and within small groups.
