Module Additional Assessment Details
The student is asked to write an essay based upon the topic area of their formative presentation for this module. Using appropriate literature, standards and guidelines, students are required to discuss and analyse the application of this issue within the context of their own branch of nursing.
A written essay 2000 words 100% (Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, and 4)

Introduction to Clinical Supervision
Professional Regulation and NMC Code of Professional Conduct
Record-keeping and the Data Protection Act
Confidentiality
Accountability and autonomy
Current legislation e.g. Human Rights Act and its relevance to the care of vulnerable adults, Mental Health Act
Child Protection guidelines and the Children Act
Patient/client at the centre of clinical practice
Ethics in health care
All elements are set within the context of Government targeted Health and Social Care strategies and the Clinical Governance framework.
