A REPORT length 1500 WORDS weighted at 50%. A MULTI-CH TEST length 1 HOURS weighted at 50%.
60 minute MCQ weighted at 50% (assessing LO's 1 and 2)
Report of 1500 words weighted at 50% (assessing LO's 3 and 4) discussing:
- determinants of health and their relationship to an identified health behaviour
- a range of health promotion strategies (national and local) that are available to address this health behaviour
- the implementation of a selected health promotion approach/intervention, providing a rationale for the selected approach

Indicative Content
This module aims to
- develop knowledge and understanding of factors contributing to a healthy society and the health of its members.
- identify the contexts in which individuals make life style behaviour choices and decisions
- develop awareness and demonstrate the ability to discuss determinants that influence life style behaviour choices and explore how choices can be modified to improve/maintain health within the context of current health promotion policy and initiatives
In order to achieve these aims the module content focuses on the following areas:
Normal Anatomy and Physiology:
The anatomy and physiology of body systems including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, nervous, gastrointestinal and reproductive.
How the normal anatomy and physiology changes over the lifespan and how lifestyle behaviours impact on anatomy and physiology.
Promoting Health and Wellness:
Identification and Interpretation of health related literature.
Analysis of relevant health policies and initiatives, their influence and impact upon societal and individual health and wellness.
Models and concepts of health and illness.
Key determinants of health and influential factors for the health and wellness of society and its members.
Addressing health inequalities- the use of health initiatives.
Health promotion strategies- influences within society and approaches for working with groups and individuals.
