A Profile of evidence related to competency according to National Occupational Standards and Knowledge and Skills Framework and be signed off to participation level of Steinaker and Bell's experiential taxonomy within the competency document 0% pass/fail (addressing LO's 1 and 2)


Reflective Assignment 2000 words (weighted 50%) (addressing LOs 1,2, 3, 5 and 6

Individual 20 minute Presentation with a given scenario (weighted 50%)

- Keeping of a reflective journal which will form the basis of work based and classroom discussions

INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to enable students to develop a range of work-based competences linked to the Skills for Health National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care appropriate to their specific areas of practice and reflect on how they have put these skills into practice. The student will explore concepts and models of reflection, for instance reflection in and on action.

Exploration of the HCA/AP code of conduct, will enable you to ensure boundaries are met consummate to the level of a future Assistant Practitioner. Reflecting on the effect it has on your behaviour and actions as an Assistant Practitioner. Further exploration of concepts which may be difficult to measure such as caring, compassion, empathy, kindness, creativity.
There will be an introduction to research and the importance of technology and its effect personally and professionally. There will be an insight into exploring identity and self-concept to enable individuals to flourish and gain an understanding of how to foster this. The potential impact of positive psychology on our patients and ourselves will be identified whilst evaluating the Integrated Care Agenda and its impact on individualised patient care.
Legal and ethical issues and theories in practice and working within the law, human Rights, data protection, confidentiality, safeguarding the vulnerable, deprivation of liberty.
Skills linked to the National Occupational Standards and KSF may be taught throughout the module and be specified within your competency framework.
