Assessment Details
1. Presentation 100% 15 minutes

A presentation of 15 minutes duration which may be delivered on-line or in person. Using an example from clinical practice, demonstrate your understanding of your role in the care of an individual with two or more conditions. This should also consider the impact of your role on the individual and others who may be involved. To meet learning outcomes 1-3.

Indicative Content
Information on a range of acute and long-term conditions, aims of treatments and common complications (LO 1)

Nursing in a range of clinical environments and the variations in the organisation of patient care within these settings (LO 3)

Nursing assessment and care planning, caring for the whole person and the family/carers (LO 1 & 3)

Fundamental nursing interventions such as assessments and essential treatments (LO 1 & 3)

Introduction to the theories underpinning nursing care, for example the biology of health and disease, the nursing process (LO 2)

The assessment and care of people experiencing a variety of conditions (LO 2 & 3)

Introduction to the care of people having treatments and procedures such as surgery, medication (LO 2 & 3)

Recognition and avoidance of hazards to vulnerable people and the concept of iatrogenesis (LO 2 & 3)
