INDICATIVE CONTENT`
Theory and practice:

The module will include the relevant minimum core standards for Mandatory and Statutory Training, only where it is not provided by your employer.

It will provide teaching and learning opportunities to develop your knowledge, understanding and necessary skills to start to take personal responsibility for becoming an accountable professional in a range of nursing and care environments.

The module will develop the apprentice's ability to perform a range of clinical and practical care skills that are required to provide and monitor care, within the legal, ethical and professional frameworks and across all four fields of nursing, Adult, Mental Health, Child and Learning Disabilities.

The module should develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to achieve high-quality person-centred care/family centred care, that encompasses communication and introduce the holistic nursing process across all four fields of nursing, Adult, Mental Health, Child and Learning Disabilities

Numeracy in nursing / drug calculations
Clinical Assessment – monitoring trends through A-E assessment. Use of tools such as NEWS/PEWS/RIO/SBAR – identification and escalation
Assessment and monitoring of the deteriorating patient to include sepsis.
Patient centred care – holistic approaches to care provision
Communication and associated tools and techniques in a variety of situations
Reflective practice and writing – episode of care assessment
