Module Indicative Content
This module aims to enable students to develop a range of work-based competences linked to the skills for health national occupational standards for health and social care, appropriate to their specific areas of practice and reflect on how they have put these skills into practice. It will also prepare learners to make the transition from learner to Assistant Practitioner. It will require the learner to reflect upon their learning throughout the programme and construct an action plan to identify future personal and professional development.

Module Additional Assessment Details
A Viva Voce based on a profile of evidence (contributes to meeting LO's1-4) 100% weighting
Profile will contain:
- Evidence of achievement of competencies in area of own practice assessed by clinical mentor - pass/fail
- Critically reflective essay of no more than 2000 words related to personal and professional development in their role of training assistant practitioner
- Personal and professional development plan for the next 2 years
Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):
Formative assessment will include:
- Keeping of a reflective journal which will form the basis of work based and classroom discussions
- Individual and group tutorials
- Feedback from clinical mentor regarding competency development
