The interpretation of patho physiological investigations
The assessment of individuals from a primary care perspective including risk assessment and
multiprofessional team working
The immediate care and treatment of individuals with asthma, coronary heart disease, neurological conditions, dehydration, leg ulcers, diabetes, anxiety.
The assessment care and management of individuals from a secondary care to include pain,
pain management, burns, shock, traumatic injury, mechanical ventilation, overdose, self harm,

A patient focused essay, relating to a significant care event within a multi-professional
situation
A one hour seen examination based on physiological observations, their homeostatic mechanisms and
associated patho-physiology and therapeutics.
Assessment of Clinical Practice
OSCE - Covering mandatory skills from year one and year two.
2500 word reflective essay (50%) (Learning Outcome 3, 4, 6) (Term 6)
One hour seen examination (50%) (Learning Outcome 5) (Term 5)
Achievement of NMC outcomes in practice Pass/Fail (Learning Outcome 1) (Term 6)
Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Pass/Fail (Learning Outcome 2) (Term 5)
