2500 word assignment examining, exploring and reflecting upon the specific diabetic care issue from practice personally identified within their reflective diary using a recognised model of reflection.
(addressing all LO's)

Formative assessment:
Personal reflective dairy on diabetic care during the module from which the diabetic care issue to be explored for summative assignment is derived.

Pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus
Clinical management and care of type 1 and 2 diabetes
Health education/promotion issues and diabetes mellitus
The long term management issues of diabetes mellitus
Nutritional issues in diabetes
Psychological and social issues
Sexual health issues in diabetes
Support issues in diabetes
Research and treatment developments in diabetic care
Foot care, eye care and specialist care issues in diabetes mellitus
Multicultural issues in diabetes
All session content will incorporate political and guidance documents such as the NSF for diabetics (2001/02)
