Module Indicative Content
This module aims to introduce the student to the concepts of facilitating the learning of others, including mentoring and coaching, importance of a safe learning environment, the importance of rigour and equity when making judgements regarding others ability to care safely in clinical environments.
The student will be introduced to a variety of assessment methods and will be encouraged to develop the necessary skills to enable them to demonstrate the attributes required to meet the demands of recognised assessors, for instance the A1 assessor award and to reflect on their development in making judgements regarding others ability to practice.

A Profile of evidence including one reflective essay of no more that 2000 words (contributes to meeting LO's 1-4) 100% weighting

The profile of evidence will include evidence:
- Establishing and maintaining a safe learning environment
- Key attributes of a mentor
- Role modelling as a means of facilitating learning
- Planning of learning experience with examples of teaching plans
- The value of unplanned learning
- Evaluation of learning opportunities
- The key features of safe, reliable, robust and fair assessment
- Reflective essay analysing on own ability to facilitate learning and making judgements regarding others ability to practice safely.
Formative assessment will include:
- Keeping of a reflective journal which will form the basis of work based and classroom discussions
- Individual and group tutorials
- Seminar presentation to peers
