Summative Assessment
A 2000 word literature review focusing on an aspect of change in patient care/management. Assessment meets all learning outcomes.

Clinical assessment of practice must be passed - (Clinical Practice = minimum of 80 hours)

A pass grade in both theory and practice must be achieved to enable the student to reapply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Additional Registration Requirement
Nurses are required to record evidence of Continuing Professional Development by maintaining a Personal Professional Profile - a Portfolio of learning and practice (NMC 2002 and 2006).
Students will be given guidance and support in portfolio development and will be required to submit this at the end of the module. Contents to include: SWOT Analysis, Action Plan(s), Reflective Writing, Learning Contract(s) and Curriculum Vitae.

Module Special Admissions Requirements
It is a statutory requirement for nurses whose registration has lapsed following a break in practice and who do not meet the NMC's PREP requirements to complete an approved Return to Practice (NMC, 2006) programme before applying for re-admission to the register.

Evidence of registration status, satisfactory character reference, Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau clearance and Ocuupational Health clearance will be sought to confirm eligibility for the Return to Practice Module.
