Module Additional Assessment Details
A 3000 word assignment which will explore an area of practice that has transformed the role of the nurse and its implications for patient care.
(addresses LO's 1 and 3)
A 30 minute unseen numeracy examination. weighted at 0% (Pass/Refer) Students will have to achieve 100% to pass the numeracy test
(addresses LO 5)
A CLINICAL PRACTICE assessment document weighted at 0% (pass/refer)
Assessment of Practice Learning Record (pass/refer) (addresses all LO's)
Students must achieve a minimum of 150 hours and maximum of 200 hours in clinical practice
This will demonstrate competence in relevant areas and will require a signature against all clinical competences by a sign off mentor
All 3 summative assessments MUST be achieved to pass the module

Additional Registration Requirement
Nurses are required to record evidence of Continuing Professional Development by maintaining a Personal Professional Portfolio - a Portfolio of learning and practice (NMC 2011)
Students will be given guidance and support in portfolio development and will be required to submit this at the end of the module. The Portfolio of learning and practice must include the following:

- SWOT analysis
- Action planning
- Learning contract
- Reflective diaries
- Reflective writing
- Learning diary
- Evidence of your learning, progression and achievements during the module
- Evidence supporting achievement of practice domains

Module Special Admissions Requirements
IT is a statutory requirement for nurses whose registration has lapsed following a break in clinical practice and who do not meet the NMC's PREP requirements to complete an approved Return to Practice (NMC 2011) programme before applying for re-admission to the register
Evidence of registration status, satisfactory character reference, and Enhanced CRB Clearance and Occupational Health clearance will be sought to confirm eligibility for the Return to Practice module.
