The module will utilise and explore theoretical issues surrounding current literature relevant to contemporary issues within a health and wellness context.
Key determinants of health and wellness within society.
Health promotion strategies and influence within society.
Addressing inequalities in health- the use of health initiatives.
Wider influences upon health and wellness within society.
Analysis of relevant health policies and initiatives and their influence upon health and wellness.
The use of evaluation techniques to monitor the impact of public health and wellness initiatives.
Work experience to develop an understanding of health and wellness in Society.
Module Additional Assessment Details
An ESSAY length 3000 WORDS critically analysing a health initiative linked to a relevant topic negotiated with the module tutors
Weighted at 100% (addressing LO 1,2 and 3).
Additional assessment details (including formative feedback/assessment)
An individual 10 minute formative presentation outlining the proposed topic and rationale for the written assessment element.
Further formative feedback will be given through individual and group tutorials regarding both the summative and formative elements.
