INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to

Enable learners to explore change management, team working and leadership theories and develop the related skills of communication, innovation and negotiation.

- Identify challenges and resistance to change.
- Change management, leadership and team working theories
- Audit and project skills
- Role of change agents
- Sustaining change in dynamic care environments
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Summative Assessment:

A 20 minute seminar presentation (contributes to meeting LO's 1-4)
100% weighting


The seminar presentation will identify an area, within the student’s scope of practice, where change has been initiated in order to improve patient/client care. The change process and outcomes will be critically evaluated, with reference to relevant literature and the evidence base. Reflection on the sustainability of the change and the change process will be demonstrated.

Formative assessment will include:

- Keeping of a reflective journal which will form the basis of work based and classroom discussions
- Individual and group tutorials
- Blackboard activity

There is an expectation that all those working within the contemporary healthcare arena are aiming to improve service delivery and the service user experience. Driving forward change to facilitate improvement can be underpinned with a range of knowledge and skills which will enhance the process and allow all healthcare workers, whatever their role, to develop their ideas and become effective in this environment.This module is core to the Foundation Degree Science in Integrated Care Practice and is delivered at level 5 during year 2 of the course. It will consider key issues such as change management, leadership and team working theories. It encourages you to consider project management, audit and sustaining change in a dynamic care environment.
