A variety of differing teaching and learning strategies are incorporated in this course including lectures 30%, discussion 10%, interactive group work 10%, case studies 10%, class tests 1%, specialist speakers from the diabetic care arena 30%, clinical visits 9%.

Formative assessment:
Personal reflective diary on diabetic care during the module from which the diabetic care issue to be explored for summative assignment is derived.

Summative assessment:
3000 word assignment critically evaluating, analyzing and reflecting on a specific diabetic care issue (taken from your reflective diary) in relation to specific clinical practice development in reference to the National Service Framework for Diabetes (DoH 2002) and to make specific recommendations for practice development in your diabetes care (100%)
