This interactive practice based module will include:
Physical and psychosocial development of infants, children and adolescents
Principles of communication with children and their families
Child perspectives of concepts of health and illness
Use and management of play and distraction therapy during assessment and treatment
Assessment and management of pain
Recognition of the sick child and rapid assessment of the acutely ill child
Safeguarding Children
Parental Responsibility
Child consent and children's rights
Family-centred care
Paediatric life support
Pharmacology relating to children and calculations
Contemporary guidance documents
