Module Additional Assessment Details
A reflective assignment of 2000 words demonstrating an understanding of the leadership challenge presented in your seminar presentation. The account must include contemporary leadership theory and must show how it relates to a professional leadership challenge encountered in your role.
70%Weighting - 2000 words (addresses LO's 3 and 4)

A seminar presentation of 20 minutes based on a leadership and management challenge within your role or area of work. Key themes of leadership such as change management; teams and team building; conflict management; decision making; and motivation for example will be incorporated and presented in the seminar presentation. 30% Weighting - 1000 word equivalent (addresses LO's 1and 2)

Both elements of the assessment must be passed in order to successfully pass the module

Module Indicative Content
The module content will facilitate in depth discussion and critical evaluation of issues underpinning leadership practice reflecting the three themes highlighted in the National Leadership Framework (2006).
Contemporary leadership theories, leadership qualities, self awareness and visionary leadership.

Service delivery for example clinical governance, team building, responsibility and accountability, partnership working and empowerment

Setting direction, including political awareness, leading and managing change, decision making and horizon scanning, resource management and budgeting
