Module Special Admissions Requirements
The course is designed for Nurses registered on the NMC Professional Register, who are employed in the General Practice setting or have access to a clinical placement within the General Practice Setting
Students need agreement of a general practice nurse mentor who is registered on the NMC Professional Register, is employed in the general practice setting and has a minimum of two years general practice nurse experience

An ASSIGMT length 3000 WORDS weighted at 100%. A LEARN.DIARY weighted at 0%.

The written assignment comprises a 3000 word investigative report identifying health needs of practice population (contributes to meeting LO's 1,2 & 3)

The learning log and competency framework (pass/fail) is a comprehensive document which utilises Steinaker and Bell's taxonomy to determining that students are able to participate in the main aspects of practice nursing. Students must achieve the level of 'Participation' in all elements of the competency framework. (contributes to meeting LO's 3 & 4)

Students must pass both parts of the assessment

Theory and practice relating to immunisations and vaccinations, cervical screening, ear syringing, CPR and anaphylaxis, Well person screening, delivering health promotion, infection control, safe storage of medicines, wound care
