Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will provide a recorded demonstration (either video or audio taped) of a discussion with a person in a service user role, about the efficacy of treatment options for a particular mental health problem (assessing LO's 1, 2 and 3). This discussion can be practice based (with appropriate consent) or a simulated demonstration to meet the needs of the assignment. (Weighting 50%) This demonstration will be accompanied by a 1500 word reflection on the recorded session (Weighting 50%)

Module Indicative Content
Students will have an overview of a range of evidence based interventions including medication, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, family interventions, systems theory, brief solution focused therapy and developing life skills in both individual and group treatment settings. Students will examine the theoretical base that underpins these therapies, identifying both strengths and weaknesses of these approaches.
