Module Indicative Content
The course will explore current issues and challenges in the area of medication management. There will be exploration of the practitioners role in delivering effective strategies to improve the service users experience including evidence based approaches to care delivery i.e. compliance therapy and motivational interviewing. There will be critical examination of current clinical practice in relation to best practice. There will be a focus on pharmacology including some psychopharmacology, pharmcokenetics and pharmodynamics as applied to treatment choice and decision-making and concordance. Assessment tools/documents and clinical/laboratory screening will be critically evaluated in the areas of pathology and psychopathology, side-effect management and clinical emergencies and will explore strategies for integration into service provision.

A 3000 work essay that focuses on a client case study and critically evaluates an area of practice related to the application of medication management and ensuring all learning outcomes are achieved.
