Any health care professional, whose sphere involves aspects of infection control and are employed in a clinical / infection prevention and control setting.

Module Indicative Content
Infection prevention and control can be described as the only specialty that lends itself across the entire health economy. The module focuses around disease management, protection and prevention of infection spread. Infection prevention and Control as part of the Public Health Agenda, is the responsibility of all healthcare workers, therefore, this module aims to raise awareness of infections, discusses and debates global infections, including TB, HIV and other re-emerging infection issues. To address the domestic issues of decontamination and management of infection within healthcare. To examine infections in wounds and the risks of infection in community and acute healthcare whilst gaining an understanding of underpinning microbiology.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A literature review and critique of the evidence base on a selected area of infection prevention and control, 3,000 words. (addressing all LO's)
