ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A CLINICAL COMPETENCE EVALUATION weighted at 0%. A MULTI-CH TEST weighted at 50%. An ORAL EXAMINATION weighted at 50%
The assessment strategy for this module involves formative and summative methods.
The summative assessments include:
- Successful completion of clinical competencies, which will be marked as either a 'Pass/Fail', (assessing ALL LO's)
- Completion of a 45 minute multiple choice question examination (MCQ). A pass mark of 80% is required. The MCQ is weighted at 50% of the total module mark, (assessing LO 1)
- Undertake of a 20 minute oral examination. A pass mark of 40% is required. This examination is weighted at 50% of the total module mark (assessing LO’s 1 and 2)
All elements of the summative assessments must be passed in order to successfully complete the module.
Formative assessment will be provided to all students by means of feedback during the taught element of the module, as well as individual tutorial support.
During their supervised clinical practice students must have a mentor(s), who they must meet with regularly to discuss progress, concerns, learning opportunities and areas for further development.
