Summative Assessment
3000 word assignment (100% weighting) (assessing LO's 2 and 4)
This will be based on a patient case study on a patient presenting with minor illness. Students will be expected to critically evaluate clinical decision making strategies
A 3,000 word reflective assignment based on a patient/client case study. Students will be expected to critically evaluate decision making models and demonstrate application of appropriate model taking into account their role and responsibility when practicing autonomously
Clinical practice competency document (0% weighting) (Pass/Fail) (assessing LO’s 1 and 3)
This will demonstrate competency in all relevant areas. This will require signature against all clinical learning hours.
Both elements of assessment must be passed to successfully achieve the module
Formative Assessment
Case presentation, group tutorials, reflective writing, and group discussions.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This clinically focused module aims to provide Registered Health Professionals with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and understanding relating to triage and the management of patients with minor illness incorporating health promotion advice drawing on the principles of evidence based practice.
