Clinical skills consolidation – simulated practice to include:
Medication administration and management
Nutrition and hydration

Patient assessment and recognising/responding to deterioration
Care of the dying patient and supporting others

Accountability and delegation as a newly qualified registered nurse.

*This module will focus on simulated practice to support consolidation of clinical skills developed across year 3, in scenario-based activities.
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
1. Achieve all proficiencies and outcomes within the practice assessment document (PAD) for part 3 (LO 1). This will include the professional values in practice and the medicines management for this part, these are detailed in the PAD.
2. The Practice Assessor and learner will identify an appropriate episode of direct care involving the organisation and management of care for a group/caseload of people with complex care needs. Professionalism underpins all aspects of the learner's performance (LO 2, LO 3)
ALL PARTS MUST BE PASSED.
There is a non-compulsory formative episode of care in this PAD that can be used in preparation for the summative assessment.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
In addition to the 200 hours theoretical learning, students are required to complete the practical component (240hrs) in line with regulatory body requirements.

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
This module aims to build your knowledge, experience and skills around children’s nursing care with a specific focus upon practical skills and reflective practice. The module links to practice learning period 9 and becoming eligible to join the professional register. You will undertake study related to the underpinning theory around common practical skills related to children’s nursing care alongside having the opportunity to develop those practical skills by undertaking simulated practice within the University Skills and Simulation Labs. You will continue to develop an understanding of evidence-based practice and practical skills that are required to fulfil the role of the children’s nurse.
