Module Details
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.Identify an area of interest from own scope of practice and develop a key question,
theme or issue from this to clarify the focus of your study and undertake a wider
literature search and review

2. Demonstrate a critical understanding of evidence, research, and appraisal, and the
ability to apply this to practice, and your professional role as a newly qualified
practitioner

3. Locate, describe and critically comment upon current research, evidence, policies and professional guidance showing evaluation of arguments, assumptions, abstract concepts and complex information to make judgements within your field of practice

4. Present and communicate information, and be able to critically discuss findings in an acceptable scholarly format
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A 6000 word critical analysis of an area of interest from your own scope of practice applied to your professional role. This should include an action plan related to the solutions identified and how you as a newly qualified nurse envision their application (meets all LO).

Formative assessment:
Presentation to small group regarding question to be explored, literature search strategy and findings. This will facilitate peer learning and dissemination

This module aims to support you in developing understanding of research and appraisal processes, when considering research related to your professional area. You will develop critical analysis skills and apply these to research and evidence that underpins your professional practice, to make judgements related to your field of practice.
