Business Case assignment
A Leadership Challenge Reflective assignment:
This 4,500 word assignment will be weighted as 70% of the total module mark.
The assignment requires students to critically reflect on an issue related to a management change they have personally implemented (or have had a significant involvement in) in their workplace. This must include a comprehensive understanding and evaluation of the role as a leader. The reflective assignment must demonstrate how the implemented change addressed business needs such as the delivery of high value healthcare services, quality, safety, positive user experiences and efficiency outcome measures.

The assignment should also contain an action plan to outline further developments and methods of sustainability. All work must be appropriately critically analysed and supported by references to contemporary leadership and management literature (addressing all LO's)

Poster presentation,
A Leadership Challenge Poster presentation:
This presentation will be weighted as 30% of the total module mark.
The 30 minute poster presentation (including 10 minutes to take questions), requires students to discuss their rationale for the management change they implemented in their workplace and future recommendations Students must also deliver their summary and action plan (for moving forward on the implications outlined for future management) to the senior team (addressing LO's 1, 2 and 3)

Both elements of assessment must be successfully completed in order to pass this module

Formative Assessment:
Students will participate in a variety of formative assessment activities during the taught element of the module. This will enable the module leader and specialist lecturers, to provide timely, constructive and effective feedback. Using formative assessment in such a way fosters effective partnership working with students, ultimately helping to enhance individuals' learning experiences.
Examples of formative assessment methods to be used include the completion of quizzes, simulated leadership and management scenarios, group discussions, self-directed tasks and reflective activities.
Much emphasis will be placed on students participating fully in the interactive scenarios. As these aim to examine the affective domain of learning, thus enabling students to explore their personal attitudes and behaviours with regard to leadership in a safe learning environment.
