Assessment Details
1. Project proposal (Meets Learning Outcomes 1 & 2) 25% 2,000 words
2. Critical Evaluation of Practice Development Project (Meets Learning Outcomes 2, 3 & 4) 75% 6,000 words
This module will enable you to manage a practice development project within your workplace, with the support of your employer and academic supervisor.
Your proposal will identify an aspect of practice development from your current workplace and formulation of a 2,000 word project proposal. You will critically reflect upon the identified practice issue. The proposal will outline the project aims, the background and rationale for the project. The project proposal will need to be approved by your identified supervisor and employer.
A 6,000 word critical evaluation of practice development project.
Indicative Content
This work-based project offers you the opportunity to acquire academic credit for learning gained from educational activities undertaken in your workplace. This practice development project will facilitate the development of clinical practice through integrated learning. You will seek, use contemporary evidence and knowledge of decision-making and clinical practice, for the development of advanced practice in your field.
Because of the significance of the project, your employer will work with you to agree a change that is achievable within your employer’s business constraints whilst meeting the needs of the Standard. The project proposal will therefore need to be agreed by you, your employer and the university.
The project will demonstrate your autonomous and independent ability within a complex professional context, to identify knowledge which expands or redefines existing knowledge and/or develops new approaches to practice. You will apply well-grounded research and evaluation methods, change management, practice and/or service development skills and evaluate any subsequent change or improvement. You will also critically reflect on and evaluate the impact of this practice development project.
Each project will be specific to you and your employer needs however learning will focus on change management, service improvement, leadership, organisational change and reflexivity.
All learning and teaching strategies will be underpinned by British Values and detailed understanding of the prevent strategy.
