Indicative Content
This module introduces students to key elements necessary to understand the New Testament. It explores the historical and religious context of these books. It provides a window on how these documents came to be written and collected into the Christian Bible. It examines early and contemporary Christian notions of authority and inspiration, and discusses essential questions of translation and interpretation.
Learning Strategies
Interactive lectures will involve a range of teaching methods and group work. The module requires students to engage in independent study, which will include reading and reflection.
