Module Learning Strategies
300 hours, of which 80 will be lectures, tutorials and learning groups, a minimum of 80 fieldwork hours, and the rest directed/independent study. Lectures will involve a range of interactive teaching methods.
Concepts and debates are introduced through interactive lectures and discussed in groups. These are supported by hand-outs (many facts, personalities, movements and time periods are covered in this module) and explored in student directed tasks. Students are also directed to preparatory reading.

Module Indicative Content
This module explores how the Christian narrative may be understood and enacted by Christians. The Gospels and Acts are discussed and the disciplines of exegesis and interpretation are introduced. The historical development of the church is surveyed and comparisons are drawn with contemporary expressions of the Christian narrative. The origins of Christology are investigated and implications for contemporary ministry are considered.
